Mid-October Update (how in heavens name did that happen!)
It seems that I'm like a record on repeat because the time just keeps flying by in a flash. I promised an update last week and yet again I have failed to keep you posted on all our news and updates.
We have some beautiful new goats cheeses that have arrived in from the Poitou Charente(Laura and Ian collected personally) and also a selection of incredible Italian cheese still being held in customs. Perhaps, something to do with the Brexit?!! We hope not...We will soon be bringing our cheese to the masses once November hits (and dare I say Cheesemas begins) by attending an array of events in the local area including a 4 week stint at Waddesdon Manor. Watch this space for further details...
We have two exciting pieces of news which we alluded to in our previous newsletter. We will be on the move at the start of November to Manor Farm, Bourton, Buckingham, MK18 7DS where we will be joining Bourton Farmed Foods. Tim and Helen set up in 2014 and are doing things properly. They are a farm shop who still rear their own animals, take them to slaughter and then retail their meat, sausages (and fingers crossed cured meats) on site. We cannot wait to work next to these guys and we truly believe that a farm setting suits who we are as a business. We hope you lovely people also agree and come and visit us when we open the doors in mid November. Naturally, there is going to be a little upheaval so our current site will be on shut down from Saturday 22nd and reopening at the new site (fingers crossed) on Friday 18th, November. We will certainly keep you updated with the latest.
The second piece of exciting news, is that Cogges Museum, Witney have invited us to host a supper club in their beautiful Manor House this November. This menu isn't a secret so everyone gets an insight into the delicious goodies on offer. The surroundings and stunning dining room has blown us away and it is such a honour and privilege to host in a fantastic venue. (I mean Downton Abbey was filmed in the space, how flipping AMAZING is that! - view here.) It makes me realise that dreams do come true for tiny empires like ours and if you want to be involved and attend such a special evening, then head over to Cogges site for all the details.
We also still have a couple of space left for our Stowe School, Supper Club and have been able to reduce the cost to £35.00 per head due to the venue not charging us as much for the space (thanks Steve!). If you would like to come for an evening of 5 courses including a cocktail onSaturday, 22nd of October then do give Gems a call on 01280 811 200 to secure your spot. It is going to be another cracker!
